We would like to take the opportunity to wish Captain Rich Scalora, Firefighter Derek Wnuk from the East Berlin Fire Company, and the rest of the state fire crew safe travels and the best of luck. Tomorrow they start their trip to Idaho to fight a wildfire.

This is Captain Scaloras 8th year being sent out to a fire he has acted in numerous roles starting with firefighter and making it up to crew boss. This will be his second fire as crew boss.

For FF Wnuk this will be his first fire with the state fire crew.

We wish the entire crew the best of luck and safe travels! We will keep you updated on their progress!

An update from 08.28.2016

The crew has arrived in Idaho they are assigned to the swan valley ranger station where they will be operating on a 300 acre fire 0% contained. They are the only crew working this fire.
