By Lieutenant Christopher Sargis
September 22, 2017

Earlier this evening Lieutenants Massirio and Sargis met with Girl Scout troop 66834 to discuss some campfire safety. Some of the things covered tonight were: safe location for a campfire, types of material that can be burned within a fire pit, material that can't be burnt in a fire pit, and how the weather effects if we can have a campfire or not. We even showed them how to build a safe campfire within a fire pit! We have also attached a link to the DEEP website regarding the fire danger in the state of CT
