At 15:49 on 2/5/2021, the four Berlin Fire Companies were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 711 Southington Rd. Upon arrival Car 41 assumed command and reported no visible fire but a heavy smoke condition. Due to the location tankers from Southington and Westfield were requested to the scene along with mutual aid from Meriden. Initial crews on scene made entry into the basement. Command requested activation of Task Force 51 and Task Force 54. Task Force 51 made up of crews from Cromwell, Newington, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield responded to the scene. Task Force 54 responded with tankers from Beacon Falls, Canton, Burlington and Farmington. Additional tankers from Prospect, Middlebury, Oxford and Southbury responded to the scene. Task Force 41 was activated to provide town coverage.

As of 20:34 the fire was reported as under control and overhaul is in progress. There are no reported injuries at this time.
